The Armand-Frappier Foundation is pleased to announce that Luc Reny,Vice-President of Power Corporation of Canada, has been named Chairman of its Board of Directors. Elected by his peers at the board’s meeting on October 22,Mr. Reny succeeds Clément Joly, who was honoured at the Foundation’s 25th Fête champêtre for his 25 years of commitment to connecting business people with those involved in applied public health research and discovery through philanthropy.
“I am honoured to succeed to Clément as Chairman of the Armand-Frappier Foundation’s Board”, states Mr. Reny. “Thanks to his hard work and devotion over the past 25 years, the Foundation is now very well positioned to continue allocating funds to support academic excellence and the advancement of research in public health.”
Mr. Reny has been involved in many philanthropic endeavours over the past few years. He served as vice-president of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and is a current member of the board of the Fondation Monbourquette, the Fondation Baxter & Alma Ricard, and the Fondation OLO.
He is also President of Square Victoria Immobilier, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada. Mr. Reny holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Université Laval and an Executive MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke; he also obtained a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute in Virginia(U.S.A.) and a Chartered Director (C.Dir.) designation from the Collège des administrateurs.
Moreover,the Foundation’s administrators would like to thank Mr. Joly for his dedication over the years and are pleased with his decision to continue serving as a member of the Board of Directors. Together with Mr. Joly and Mr. Reny, the seven other board members expect to solidify the Armand-Frappier Foundation’s key role in fostering academic excellence and the advancement of scientific research in the field of health in Québec.
